We require evidence be supplied for all applications to the Home Heating Support Fund. This is to ensure that we are able to allocate funds legitimately, as well as ensure that you get the funds that you are entitled to based on your individual circumstances and need.

Evidence

Let’s look at some examples of evidence that you can supply for each section of the form in support of your application.

“Have you stopped using your energy supply?”

Up-to-date utility bill, Official email from energy supplier, Debt collector letter. An EPC certificate can also be submitted, or a two energy bills, demonstrating a reduction in usage. You could also supply an outline of your situation under the “Narrative” section (see below).

“Are you cutting back on fuel use to pay for essential items such as food, petrol or other household costs?”

“Which energy service/s are you applying for?”

“Will you be able to make your next fuel payment?”

“Do you live in a remote/island community?”

Proof of address e.g., fuel bill, council tax letter, Bank Statement.

“Does anybody aged 75 or over live in the property?”

Any official document showing a date of birth (e.g., passport, drivers license). It would also be useful if the document also showed your address.

“Does the property have higher than average bills?”

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), or a relevant energy bill.

“Does anybody in the property have a disability or illness?”

Relevant medical letter, Disability Living Allowance Letter (DLA), Employment and Support Allowance Letter (ESA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Letter.

“My fuel debt prevents me from heating my home properly.”

“I have received debt or energy advice from an accredited agency and can supply evidence of this by WhatsApp or Email.”
